Red Rock Reservoir, southeast of Des Moines.
DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge on the west side of Iowa
Wintering Bald Eagles around the city of Keokuk. November thru March with the
peak in January. Over 400 Bald Eagles can be seen in the area.
Best area around lock and Dam 19, try the riverfront area south of the bridge.
Also try the raceway behind the dam from Corp of Engineers headquarters, cross the
catwalk to the dam and walk toward the powerhouse. Check out Rand Park and
upstream on River Road, down stream from Montrose, and Montebello area.
These cites are also good for eagle viewing, Dubuque (Lock and Dam 11),
Bellevue, Davenport (Quad Cities Area), Burlington and Muscatine (Lock and Dam 16),
and Lake Red Rock and below the dam.

bridges of Madison County around Winterset in Iowa (which is also the birthplace of John
Wayne) Pick up a brochure in town for the bridges locations.
